Enjoy sashimi-grade tuna at home! Use it for your chirashi or poke bowls, or make your own sushi. 

  • Approximately 300g
  • Please note the weight will vary between +- 75g

  • Defrost, slice and serve
  • Following is the guideline 

- Prepare bucket of ice water

- Remove the Tuna from the vacuum pack

- Rinse the Tuna with ice water to remove any residue to prevent any contamination

- Wrap the Tuna tightly in a plastic bag. Ensure that water will not leak into the bag and that there is no air prevent the bag from floating

- Submerge the bag in ice water. Use a clip to secure the bag if needed

- Wait for 1.5 to 2 hours, remove the Tuna from the bag. By now the Tuna should be about 80% defrosted

- Use a kitchen paper (better to use Reed Paper if available) to wipe off any drips and ensure there is no further residue. Pat the Tuna dry

- The Tuna is now ready to be consumed

- If you wish to keep it later or overnight (max 1 day), please wrap it in plastic wrap and keep it in the chiller compartment of your refrigerator

  • Store Akami in the freezer for up to 2 days
  • Consume on the day after defrosting for maximum freshness!
  • Please do not refreeze after defrosting
